Supporting you through life's challenges
Counselling in reach of Wokingham, Bracknell and Finchampstead
Here at One Life Therapies, I understand that it can be difficult to navigate the ups and downs that life can throw at us. When faced with situations such as bereavement, anxiety, depression, illness or stress, it can be hard to know which way to turn or how to move forwards; we can feel lost or confused. Sometimes it can be helpful to talk to a counsellor or therapist, someone unrelated to you, who can offer a safe, non-judgemental space in which to explore your feelings and thoughts.
Taking the first step in seeking help and making changes, by coming to counselling and starting to work with a therapist can feel overwhelming and even frightening. This can be especially hard if you are already trying to cope with uncomfortable feelings such as those that might accompany depression, generalised anxiety disorder or panic attacks. Going through challenges such as relationship problems or parenting difficulties, can feel very lonely, at times.
You can be reassured that at One Life Therapies you will receive a warm, supportive and compassionate welcome and I will do my best to put you at ease from your very first contact with me.
Nicky Setter Counsellor MBACP
I am a BACP accredited, fully qualified humanistic counsellor, based in Wokingham, Berkshire; within easy reach of Bracknell and Finchampstead. I offer individual counselling for adults. In addition to this I also offer online and telephone counselling sessions and can offer these remote sessions regardless of your location.
I believe passionately in the power of counselling, to enable people to overcome difficulties, gain a greater understanding of themselves and to support their mental health. I trust in my clients ability to know what is right for them. I will work with you in a collaborative way to empower you to find your own solutions and way forward.
If you'd like to know more about me and how I work, including my background and qualifications, then please take a look at my 'About Me' page.
Meeting YOUR unique needs
I offer counselling for individual adults, in a way and at a time that suits your particular needs. My private practice, where I work as a therapist, is conveniently located in the centre of Wokingham and is close to the nearby towns of Woodley, Finchampstead, Bracknell, Camberley, Crowthorne, Earley and Reading. However, distance need not be a barrier to us working together. Since March 2020 I have also been working remotely by telephone and online, with clients from across the UK.
My therapy room, which is warm, comfortable and modern is in a beautiful grade 2 listed building called Markham House which is easily accessable by both road and public transport and is a short walk from Wokingham station.
I believe that every person is unique and will each require something different from counselling. I will work with you in a bespoke way that ensures that you are able to get the most out of your counselling experience and meets your individial needs.
I am delighted to be able to offer flexible appointments at a variety of times throughout the week, including some evening appointments.
The coronavirus pandemic continues to impact many people in a spectrum of different ways. With ongoing uncertainty, worry, hardship and frequent change, the effects of this are far reaching and will vary from one person to the next. However, possible impacts for you may include additional caring responsibilities, financial hardship, exacerbation of underlying mental health problems and emotional difficulties, redundancy, work stress, family illness, overwhelm, relationship changes or the loss of a loved one.
Perhaps you might benefit from some additional support? I am currently offering online, telephone and face to face counselling sessions in line with Covid secure guidance. I’m very happy to discuss with you which might suit you best, to ensure that you get what you need from counselling at this challenging time.
